Health & Safety Warning
IMPORTANT HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION
For your own safety, the Health & Safety Warning must be accepted prior to using the PERFECT FIT PRO system. Follow these instructions to reduce the risk of personal injury, illness, or death.
The PERFECT FIT PRO system is an online exercise prescription solution designed to educate users about exercise and exercise-related concepts. Before performing any of the exercises demonstrated in the PERFECT FIT PRO application, you should carefully read all of the instructional information. Each exercise is accompanied by written instructions and animations intended to educate you about appropriate exercise technique. These instructions and animations should be carefully reviewed before you attempt to actively perform the exercise. If these resources are not adequate to help you understand how to perform an exercise safely with correct technique, consult a trained exercise specialist to receive the required guidance before performing any of the exercises demonstrated in the PERFECT FIT PRO application. The contents of the PERFECT FIT PRO system should not be construed or used in any way to provide medical advice or make medical diagnoses, and you are not to use it for any such purposes.
You should exercise in a well-lit environment that is free from obstacles and should give yourself enough space to move freely to avoid injury. Avoid alcohol and heavy meals for 2 hours prior to your workout. Drink fluids (preferably water) before, during, and after each exercise session. Be sure to wear shoes that provide good foot support, traction, and cushioning; and clothing that is comfortable and breathable, and doesn't inhibit movement.
Consult with your physician or primary healthcare provider to assess your health prior to using the PERFECT FIT PRO system or engaging in any exercise program. This is particularly important if you are overweight, pregnant, nursing, or taking medications, or if you have a medical or health condition or an injury history. If you are concerned about whether the PERFECT FIT PRO exercises are appropriate for you, consult with your physician or primary healthcare provider. Stop exercising immediately and consult your physician or primary healthcare provider if you become nauseated, dizzy, faint, or lightheaded, and/or if you experience any unusual discomfort including severe pain, numbness, tingling, loss of strength, or shortness of breath. These warning signs should not be dismissed and are your body's way of telling you to stop.
THE PERFECT FIT PRO PROGRAM DOES NOT DETERMINE WHETHER YOU ARE PHYSICALLY OR MEDICALLY ABLE TO SAFELY PERFORM ANY EXERCISES. THE PROGRAM ALSO DOES NOT MONITOR YOUR HEALTH OR PHYSICAL CONDITION WHILE YOU EXERCISE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EXERCISING WITHIN YOUR LIMITS AND SEEKING MEDICAL ATTENTION AND ADVICE AS YOU DETERMINE APPROPRIATE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES CAN RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH.
ABOUT PHOTOSENSITIVE SEIZURES
A very small percentage of people may be susceptible to experiencing seizures when they are exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights and/or patterns that may appear on the screen. Even people without any history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these "photosensitive epileptic seizures" to occur in response to these visual images. A variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness can result. Seizures can also result in loss of consciousness, or convulsions that can lead to additional injury as a result of falling down or striking nearby objects.
Immediately stop exercising and consult your physician or primary healthcare provider if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should be aware that children and teenagers are more likely to experience seizures than adults and thus should monitor their children closely for any of the above symptoms.
Sitting farther from the monitor, using a smaller monitor, viewing video screens in a well-lit room, and not viewing video screens when you are drowsy or fatigued, are all ways that may decrease the risk of experiencing a photosensitive epileptic seizure. If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult your physician or primary healthcare provider before using this site.
